This provides an overview of the Heavy Duty Ramps, LLC Load Leveler System. It will also help identify parts should you need to replace them.
Patents
- U.S. Patent #7.930.788 B1 covers 23.5K Dual Purpose Load Leveler Ramps, Stands, Stakes
- U.S. Patent #8,061,943 B1 covers Single Purpose Load Levelers, Stakes

Load Leveler Ramps
Dual purpose ramps can be used as loading ramps, or placed on their side and used as load levelers.
Five per-axle capacities available:
- 32,000 lb. (18″ and 20″ ramp widths)
- 23,500 lb. (18″, 19″, and 20″ ramp widths)
- 20,000 lb. (16" ramp width)
- 15,000 lb. (18″ and 20″ ramp widths)
- 10,000 lb. (16″ ramp width)
- All ramps are 8' in length
- All ramps have pin ends for secure connection to the trailer (requires Skid Seat) and stands
- 20,000 and 32,000 lb. max per axle ramps are 6" thick, the others are 5″ thick
- Converts to a Load Leveler with the use of optional stakes
- Three lumber clips per ramp required when used as load levelers
- May be hung from beneath your trailer for easy transport using optional hanging system

Adjustable Ramp Stand
Creates additional support for ramps made up of two consecutive 8' sections.
- Adjust from 18″ to 24″ H
- Work with all Load Leveler ramps
- May be hung beneath trailer with optional hangers
- All ramps pin to stands for secure connection
- All stands come complete with base, upper Section, all pins and keepers

Stakes
- One pair of stakes per ramp holds the ramp upright for use as a leveler
- Use chain binder with up to 3/8" chain to securely fasten stakes to trailer stake pockets
- Eight heights available to accomodate different trailer drops; 16″, 18″, 19″, 20″, 21″, 22″, 24″, and 26″
- Getting the correct stakes is important. If using spacers: Stake Height = Ramp Width + Spacer Height
- Some trailers have a narrow pocket, so you must measure the stake pocket to select the correct stake inserts
- Stake inserts are designed to be reversed to allow for up to a 1″ difference in trailer rub rail widths

Spacer
Makes up the gap when load leveler or load leveler/ramps aren't tall enough for the application.
- Available in 4″ and 6″ heights
- Takes up space where trailer drop is greater than 20″ and it is not practical to fill a large gap with lumber alone
- Works together with ramps and stakes
- Use 6″ wide spacers with 20,000 lb. max per axle rated ramps, 5″ wide otherwise
- Lumber is required to protect aluminum and make up any additional gaps

Aluminum Skid Seats
- Available in 4 widths: 24″, 36″ (most popular), 48″, and 97″
- Welding to trailer is preferred because of its strength, but bolting to trailer may be used
- May be trimmed to fit around stake pockets on upper or rear deck
- May be mounted to either or both upper and lower decks
- Be sure to order the type appropriate for the deck being equiped
- Come equiped with rods and standard hitch pins

Steel Skid Seats
- Available in 4 widths: 24″, 36″ (most popular), 48″, and 97″
- Welding to trailer is required
- May be mounted to either or both upper and lower decks
- Be sure to order the type appropriate for the deck being equiped
- Come equiped with rods and standard hitch pins

Stake Inserts
- Available in 3 sizes cut to fit trailers known to us. Remember, it’s important to know the size of your stake pockets.
- May be reversed to accommodate slight variations in trailer width between stake pockets
- If you have a Reinke or Manac trailer, reach out to us - your trailer may have smaller stake pockets that require a specialized size
- Each stake is complete with stake insert to fit your trailer, pins and keepers
Load Leveler
- Single-purpose Load Leveler measure 102″ across and cannot be used as a loading ramp
- Levelers are rated at 20,000 lbs., 8,000 lbs. point load across 12″ width, 20,000 lbs. spread across the entire 102″ width
- Available in 16″, 18″, 20″, 22″, 24″, and 26″ heights
- Load Leveler is a single unit and includes stakes that fit into stake pockets to hold it upright, held in place by your chain binder
- Be sure to measure your trailers stake pockets to receive the correct stake inserts
- Lumber clips are a part of the Leveler that allow permament attachment of Dunnage
- We also have available optional Apitong to be used as dunnage

Lumber Clips
- May also be known as Dunnage holders
- Three required for each ramp used as a load leveler
- Comes in both 6″ wide, for 20K max per axle ramps, 5″ wide for all other ramps
- Required for use atop spacers to protect the aluminum ramp and spread the load
