Auto Carrier Ramps

This video demonstrates the use of of Heavy Duty Ramps as both a ramp and as a load leveler

Under normal operations these ramps would be held in place by the aircraft door resting on it. In this test, we had no way to simulate the door holding the ramp and upper stand in place; the stands were on a downhill incline on frozen uneven earth and gravel. For our safety, and that of the tractor operator and his equipment, we first chained the stands together to prevent the stands from sliding. The idea was to see if the chain tightened any... they didn't.

After the initial drive on, the chains were removed, allowing the tractor to pull onto the then free standing ramp system while we documented the rest of the test in still photos. Check out the full article: C-130 Ramp Test.
